Welcome!

Welcome to my blog, Sierra Savings.  I will be listing couponing deals for the main grocery and drug stores in the Northern California area (Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS/Longs, Whole Foods, Safeway and Raley's/BelAir).  I am beginning this blog to help Northern Californians cut their grocery bills significantly!  I do not live in California but grew up there and still have lots of family in Northern California.  I have noticed a lack of resources to help them coupon and those that exist usually focus on Southern California.

I began couponing in June of 2009 and have gotten hooked.  It's a lot of fun to see how much you can save!  I will never again buy toothpaste for more than $.50 a tube (name-brand) or spend money for a toothbrush.  I am now using name-brand diapers for my two kids because they're cheaper than store brand!  Just today I spent $7.89 out of pocket for toilet paper, artificial tears and two sinus rinse/spray products and will be receiving a check in the mail for almost $24!  My freezer is overflowing (almost literally) with frozen veggies that cost me no more than $.35/bag, frozen pizzas ($1.99/ea) and Morningstar Farms veggie meat ($.90-$1.90 ea).

Welcome to the fun and exciting game of couponing!
